Meet The Team

Kim Forry
President
Originally from Pennsylvania and now living in Maryland, Kim has a lifelong connection to gardening and farming. After many years of combining gardening jobs with positions in health and recreation, she accepted the position in 2013 of Garden Manager for Chase Home, Inc., the non-profit owner of a National Historic Landmark, in Annapolis, MD. In that position, she has converted the ornamental 6,000 square foot garden into a Bay Wise Certified Native Garden through the University of Maryland, Master Gardener Program. She is also a Certified Professional Horticulturist through the Maryland Nursery, Greenhouse and Landscape Association. For the Chase-Lloyd House Garden, Kim has developed a large volunteer core of Master Gardeners, supervises garden staff and develops the annual plans for a sustainable landscape. In addition, she consults for the gardens at Wimsey Cove Nature Preserve and Dodon Vineyard in Maryland. When not working in a garden, she is involved in genealogy, teaching online senior exercise classes, calling square dances and performing Appalachian Flatfooting dances. Kim is excited to bring her many experiences, passion, and commitment of sustainable gardening to the Board of White Rose Farm Circle.

Richard Swerling
Vice President
Richard is a retired pharmacist living in Baltimore, Maryland. He has degrees in both biology and pharmacy. He has a keen interest in the work of Austrian philosopher Rudolf Steiner especially his philosophy (anthroposophy) and his approach to agriculture: biodynamic farming. This approach sees the earth and land as living organisms with roots in both the physical and spiritual worlds. Since he retired, he has sought to reconnect to the land in a very real and caring way.

Kathleen Green
Secretary
As a child, Kathleen felt a deep familial connection with nature. A concern for our human impact on nature has impacted who she is today. Trained in the environmental sciences and a Master Gardener for Penn State Extension for almost 10 years, Kathy is a beginner herbal medicine hobbyist and beekeeper. She is also licensed in massage therapy and has received multi- level training in reiki and energy work. She resides in Carroll Valley, PA with her husband Randy. Her desire to help mother earth brought her to biodynamics and White Rose Farm where she hopes to help educate and connect people to the love and beauty of nature.
